The Bill Dance Giant Bass Open Tournament Series presented by the Bill Dance Signature Lakes is a collaborative effort between Governor Bill Lee’s Office, The Tennessee Department of Tourist Development, Tennessee State Parks, The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, and Bill Dance Outdoors.

The purpose of the Bill Dance Signature Lakes is to honor the legacy of legendary Tennessean, Bill Dance, by enhancing fisheries management and public access at each of the 14 designated Signature Lakes across the state.

More than $16 Million has been budgeted by the partnering state agencies to develop the Bill Dance Signature Lakes initiative, which includes: habitat and fisheries enhancements, public access upgrades, and marketing & branding.

In addition to state resources, the Bill Dance Friends & Family Foundation has been created to bring in the private sector and to advise on the long-term oversight of the project and to ensure the vision set by Bill Dance is carried forward. In addition to fisheries enhancement and public access improvements, the Foundation is focused on youth recruitment and education to ensure that we are inspiring the next generation of anglers, just as Bill Dance has already inspired millions of present-day anglers from around the world. As the project and brand matures, many rural economies will be strengthened through the economic impact generated by anglers and recreational travel as they visit each of the 14 Bill Dance Signature Lakes.
